.RU Drastic Policy Change
.RU Drastic Policy Change Starting April 1st, 2010
Last October, the registry operator for the ccTLD .RU (the Coordination Center), modified its policy on .RU registration. In accordance with those modified policies, starting April 1st, 2010, registrants must also be "verified" before a registration can be processed.
We will inform you in more detail concerning the registration process in one our upcoming newsletters.
Notice: Even though the verification policy doesn't start until April 1st, 2010, HEXONET would like to encourage all resellers to start implementing these requirements today.
1. Registrant Verification: Depending on Registration Type Please Submit the Required Documentation- For Legal Entities: A copy of the certificate that shows state registration issued by the state authority.
- For Natural Persons: A copy of a passport (personal details and issuance data).
- For Entrepreneurs: A copy of a passport (personal details and issuance data).
- Contract-ID: Please submit the contract number for your registration using field X-RU-DOMAIN-CONTRACT-ID
- The contract ID can be obtained using the StatusDomain command for the respective domain (within the property)

.LU IDNs Pre-registration opens February 18, 2010 at 09:00 UTC
DNS-LU, the official registry operator of the ccTLD of Luxembourg, recently announced the availability of Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) for .LU on a "first-come-first-served" basis starting April 1, 2010. .NZ soon to launch IDNs
The DNC (Domain Name Commission) office of .NZ, the official ccTLD of New Zealand, has been moving toward implementing IDNs. Soon, registrants will be able to use IDNs to correctly display Māori words and names with .NZ domain names.
The initial sunrise registration phase for .NZ IDNs runs until July 6, 2010 to allow current .NZ registrants to apply for Māori language variants of their existing names. The IDN characters for Māori language will include ā, ē, ī, ō and ū. IDN domains that meet the .NZ policy will be registered when the IDN system is launched.
After the sunrise, .NZ IDNs will be made available July 26, 2010 on a "first-come-first-served" basis. Please stay tuned, as more information will be provided in subsequent newsletters, including when HEXONET will be accepting pre-registrations of .NZ IDNs.

Then just add one or more keywords of your choice, select any additional options you like, and enter the email address where the alert should be sent. Then anytime a domain with the entered keyword(s) is about to expire, an email notification will automatically be sent.

- Alert email notification is only a notice, placing a backorder is strictly the responsibility of the reseller alone.

Pre-Registrations via Control Panel
Pre-registrations can be submitted through the Control Panel by logging into your account and navigating to "Manage Products > Domains" and clicking the "Pre-reg Admin" link in the left side menu. From here one can list existing or submit new pre-registrations. Users can modify or delete any pre-registrations without charge prior to the launch date.
IMPORTANT - Pre-Registration Billing
Please note that as of January 11th, 2010, we will attempt to withdraw the total cost of all your .ORG Chinese IDN pre-registrations from your reseller account. This deduction is only to reserve funds in case all your pre-registration are successful. Reserved funds will be returned back to your account if any pre-registrations are not successful or if you delete a pre-registration before the launch date.
Please note, that 24 hours prior to the actual "Go Live", HEXONET will stop accepting pre-registrations. Additional domain requests will be queued up and submitted to the registry once our main batch-queue has been submitted successfully. As always, if any pre-registrations should fail, refunds will automatically be applied to your reseller account.
With the recent policy changes for .CN, this may turn out to be a tremendous opportunity for .ORG in China.
Registry Update Bulletin
.LU IDNs Launching Soon
Recently DNS-LU, the official registry operator of the ccTLD of Luxembourg, announced that Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) for .LU will begin as of April 1st, 2010. On that day, .LU IDN registrations will be accepted on a "first-come-first-served bases". Stay tuned for the official set of IDN characters from the registry, as well as, HEXONET's pre-registration opening date in subsequent notices.
.LU Trustee No Longer Required
As of February 1st, 2010, the requirement that the administrative contact for a .LU domain be an entity in Luxembourg, will be dropped. As a result, .LU registrations will be permitted by anyone worldwide without restriction. For existing .LU registrants at HEXONET, on February 1st, 2010, Trustee data will automatically be replaced with the registrant data, as well as, the automatic removal of Trustee .LU relations and billing logic on the system.
.RU Drastic Policy Change Starting April 1st, 2010
Last October, the registry operator for the ccTLD .RU (the Coordination Center), modified its policy on .RU registration. In accordance with those modified policies, starting April 1st, 2010, registrants must also be "verified" before a registration can be processed.
We will inform you in more detail concerning the registration process in one our upcoming newsletters.
Notice: Even though the verification policy doesn't start until April 1st, 2010, HEXONET would like to encourage all resellers to start implementing these requirements today.

As of February 1st, 2010, DENIC as the official registry for the ccTLD .DE, will discontinue to support its "old" transfer methods and only permit transfers with the use of the AuthInfo1 Code procedure. Existing .DE domains that currently do not have an AuthInfo1 Code will automatically be assigned one to allow for transfers.

.CN Registrations Temporarily Suspended
Late yesterday, Neustar, who handles all "international accredited registrars" for CNNIC, received notice from CNNIC that in order to implement a better methodology to verify registrant information from overseas registrations, CNNIC has made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend new registrations from all overseas registrars starting at:
January 6th, 2010, 10:00 UTC
PLEASE NOTE: Neustar understands that this suspension only effects NEW registrations and does not effect renewals.
This news means that HEXONET is also required to suspend NEW CN registrations until further notified. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide immediate updates as we receive more information.
